A fuse in series with the mains input to the Transformer.the value can
be calculated as follows....
(power in the secondary of the transformer = power in the primary of the transformer)
Therefore for 13.8v at 20 Amps the secondary power =
13.8V * 20Amp = 276 watts
Calculating from that for a mains supply of 240 volts =
276/240 = 1.15 amp fuse.
I use a 2 Amp fuse in my supply this gives some provision for the large capacitor
charging current ( inrush current )during switch on
