Fello Amateur's As a repeater owner in a population area of over 200,000, I have noticed a dramatic change in the activity level on my repeater and others in the area. Besides an increase in activity which is great, it is also obvious to any ham that has been involved in amateur radio for more than 5 years that the content and actions of many(Not ALL) NEW AMATEURS is almost identical to CB radio.
Yesterday, I listened over an hour to a intoxicated ham, describe in detail, the difficulty he was having with a BOWEL MOVEMENT. He actually described an upcomming event with the other NEW ham he was speaking with. This was not an isolated event. In the past two weeks, I have heard comments and slangs that would never been heard on Amateur repeaters in the past. I am sorry to say that this writer continues to believe that we are witnessing the destruction of Amateur radio that was the result of the elimination of the Morse Requirement, promoted by the FCC and the ARRL.
