The only active region on the solar disc (NOAA AR 0874,
Catania number 29) is growing and may produce flares
. The B4.5 flare
after midnight occurred at the west limb. The Earth is currently inside
the slow solar wind flow. The interplanetary magnetic field magnitude
shows significant fluctuations during the last 48 hours. This might
indicate a possible arrival of the stream interaction region. The
turning of the IMF to the south is not excluded, so active geomagnetic
conditions may occur. Late on April 23 disturbed geomagnet
ic conditions
are probable due to a possible arrival of an ICME associated with the
filament eruption on April 19.
