Response from My Senator:
The following is the response from my Senator:

Dear Mr. Wise

Thank you for contacting me regarding H.R. 607, the Broadband for First Responders Act of 2011. I appreciate your taking the time to write and share your concerns.
I believe that municipalities and first responders need access to the best available broadband resources. As you know, H.R. 607 was introduced by Representative Peter King on February 10, 2011 and was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. This legislation would increase the electromagnetic spectrum allocation for public safety services by 10 megahertz and allocate the paired electromagnetic spectrum bands of 758-763 megahertz and 788-793 megahertz (D-Block) for public safety broadband communications and assign such paired bands to public safety. I understand your concerns regarding this bill and how it may impact rural communities in New Mexico, and I will keep your letter in mind as Congress discusses this issue.
Again, thank you for contacting me. Please continue to keep me informed on issues of concern to you and your community.
Sincerely,

JEFF BINGAMAN
United States Senator
