Dear "Strange" Friends,
It took me some time to understand the decision of Oreste, IZ8EDJ, to
close the Strange Radio Team before being able to write down the reasons
which led him to such choice.
It is basically very simple.
The Strange Radio Team has expanded at an exponential rate keeping its
original spirit, aim and style. But like all good things, and this was
absolutely good, it is better to quit now, when it is still at the top
of his success, than later on maybe losing its spirit and its aim
falling down. It is better to end up by keeping our head up, been
winners, keeping all the memories of great conventions, meetings,
contests, awards and any others activities designed to promote the style
and spirit of amateur radio that have been central to the "Strange"
philosophy. But we do not stop here .. because like the Phoenix rising
from its ashes, the volcanic mind of Oreste is already thinking and
developing a project with highly engaging initiatives, which include,
however, still many DX Conventions and Meetings, which are and will
always remain into the Spirit of the Strange Radio Team.
As last communication, I want to inform you that the mailing list and
forum will remain open to not lose those importants contacts established
with all of you over the years by broadcasting DX news bulletins and
several others news useful to our amateur radio community.
The Strange Radio Team is therefore now in effect in the History of
Italian hamradio world!
