VK9WWI Update
September 12th, 2007
George states that he is leaving for Australia this afternoon (Sept. 11, 2007) .

“We are in a decent shape: our gear has made it and the boat is on its way north (from the Gold Coast). Due to logistics issues and problems with one of the boat’s engines, we will be staging out of Airlie Beach, instead of Cairns. We still expect to arrive at Willis on Sep 24 and be on the air by Sep 25.”

George has indicated that the dates are weather dependent and may slip. Stay tuned for further updates.
Best 73,

George

This (UTC) morning VK9WWI was on 20 SSB and I talked to Tom HA7RY.

They have almost 6,000 Q’s so far. They will be on 80 CW mostly tonight,
then 160 CW tomorrow night. They think they will run out of fuel by next
