how to use.. say a vertical for 160m when checked with Antenna analyster we find R load is 18 ohms plus 10 ohms of ground loss = 28 ohms (we are saying it is pure resistive) es we want to match to our 50 ohm feed line..
we change R load to 28 ohms click on auto tune es we see input C 209 pf, L is 16.6 mH output is C 249pf ..we can now tune C es l to standard values to see wot will happen to our SWR..
if we make input C 200 es output C 240 pf we find swr is now 1.3 to 1
if we change L to 16.9 mH our swr will come back to 1.1 to 1 SWR, OUR LOSS IS STILL UNDER 1db
SO WE CAN JIGGLE OUR FIGURES SO WE CAN USE STANDARD VALUES WHEN MATCHING FEED LINES TO VERTICAL ANTENNA SYSTEMS
