Posted - 16 Dec 2007 : 4:13:38 PM dc supplies.. Try a plastic bin (safest way) filled 3/4 full with water make a couple of electrodes copper tube ,connect ur power supply to the electrodes ..NOW slowerly add cooking salt to the water es watch the amps build up.. by carefully adding salt u can see current limiting occuring it is even usefull at rf!! ,as a load, well hf frequency's.. I have seen 200 plus amps on a dc supply.. "CAUTION" AS CURRENT INCREASES THEIR IS A CHANCE OF COPPER TRANSFERE IN THE WATER This could cause a flash over.. If a metal container is used (- neg) to metal bin es the other to a copper rod which is isolated from the metal container, plating effect is also possible over the inside of the metal container!! I have seen the water boiling which means bigger container es more water is needed hi.. TAKE CARE in doing this!! |
