Posted - 11 May 2006 : 07:12:40 AM The solar activity will remain very low. At the time of this bulletin, the ACE solar wind measurements show the first signs of the arrival of a new corotating interaction region, preceding a high speed solar wind stream: the wind speed is rising again, while the temperature and magnetic field strength are increasing. Therefore, we predict the onset of a magnetic storm in the next 12 hours, in response to this strong recurrent wind stream. This storm may reach moderate levels (Kp=5 to 6) during a few hours. It should decay over the second half of May 11 |
