COMMENT: The solar activity is very low and is expected to remain so. A
halo CME was detected in LASCO images late yesterday Feb.10, around
23:00UT. EIT and H-alpha images indicate that it was a backside event.
The solar wind speed has steadily increased over the last 5 hours (now,
380km/s), probably under the influence of a small low-latitude coronal
hole now entering the geoeffective sector.
It is expected to raise the
geomagnetic activity, which should reach unsettled and temporarily
active levels (possible minor storm at high latitude).
However, this
disturbed period should only last for one or two days, before returning
to quiet levels.
